A series of four paintings created by building then sanding layers of collaged fragments of paper, transfers of magazine images, acrylic paint, pencil marks, and oil stick.
The series draws inspiration (and each work’s title) from a vintage National Geographic article about the four kinds of oceanic geology. Bits of the article are collaged in each.
Finished with cold wax.
The piece is signed and dated on the back.
